    — Go for the top! Don’t let anyone else take away your dream.

    — The higher the percentage of raw food that you can eat, the faster you will see results.

    — Don’t hold resentments or judgments against anyone else, as it is really like suicide for yourself! Negative thoughts only hurt yourself. Think, feel, BE positive instead, as much as possible, as YOU ARE WORTH IT!

    — You are being pulled into your destiny…don’t think about the past, as you are literally getting sucked into your future!

    — I encourage you to get addicted to the process of growth– both the challenges & the triumphs!

    For all you people who seem so concerned about me throwing out the yolks which are “so full of vitamins”, let me ask you this, how many servings of fresh vegetables do you eat in a day? If you are truly concerned about vitamins, you should be eating a lot more vegetables!!!!

    Tossed Salad Recipe made with Mixed Veggies
    plus a delicious Low Calorie Salad Dressing Recipe

    * I n g r e d i e n t s *
    For the DRESSING:
    — 3 Tomatoes
    — 1-2 Oranges
    — 1 Avocado
    — 2 cloves of Garlic

    For the SALAD:
    — 1 head of Romaine Lettuce
    — 2 Red Peppers
    — 2-4 Carrots (unpeeled if organic, or peeled if inorganic)
    — 1-2 Cucumbers (unpeeled if organic, or peeled if inorganic)

    * P r e p a r a t i o n *
    — 1) To make the dressing, roughly chop the tomatoes, and toss into your Vita-Mix blender, or other high-powered blender of your choice. http://bit.ly/GZsuq or http://bit.ly/3OTXD9

    — 2) Use a manual citrus juicer or a citrus hand juicer to squeeze the juice of the orange into the Vitamix as well.

    — 3) Roughly chop the avocado and toss into your Vitamix along with the 2 cloves of garlic, and blend until desired consistency is reached.

    — 4) Roughly slice the romaine lettuce leaves into bite-sized pieces and toss into a serving bowl. Or, another method is to tear the leaves by hand into smaller pieces. (OR, you could even serve the leaves whole and intact and serve with the dressing as a dip!)

    — 5) Cut the centers out of the red peppers, then slice the red peppers, carrots & cucumbers all into bite-sized chunks, and add to your salad.

    — 6) Drizzle dressing over salad or offer it on the side…your lunch or dinner is now served; enjoy!

    * I n s p i r a t i o n *
    — I am not anti- superfood or anti- supplement, I just find that I don’t need them that much. I personally prefer the “spacious” foods…fruits and vegetables.

    — I feel good on a low fat raw vegan diet! But I don’t prescribe to any diet with any religious fervor…I still listen to my body. For example, in the winter I find that I need more fat to stay warm…e.g., nuts. When you do eat nuts, try to only buy ones that still have the shells on them, so that you eat them more slowly…and hence don’t overeat. :D

    — If you fill yourself up on a nice healthy, delicious, *simple* and filling salad every day, you can’t really go wrong!

    Posted by admin on May 31st, 2010 and filed under healthy meal | 25 Comments »

    quinoa is a wonder grain, high in protein, high in fiber, and low in fat. Even I can cook it, just two ingredients: quinoa and salsa. Let it boil 15min and its done.

    1 serving (1/4 cup dry) has:
    170 calories
    6g protein
    3g fiber
    3g fat

    For a great meal, have quinoa with 1/2 cup cooked pinto beans (or half a chicken breast) and a piece of fruit.

    Healthy 2 min meal 4 wt loss & muscle gain

    Posted by admin on May 27th, 2010 and filed under healthy meal | 25 Comments »

    Here is another healthy and quick meal. Its high in protein, high in fiber, and has only TWO ingredients so even I can make it. Beans are an excellent source of protein and one of the cheapest. A 30g serving of protein from beans costs 17 cents vs 75 cents for meat or protein powder. The fresh salsa provides a great flavor and some veggies. If you are trying to cut down on the calories to lose fat, beans are great because all the fiber fills you up without many calories. If you are trying to gain muscle beans are great because they are so high in protein. Win Win!
