This is a favorite all-around snack or part of a vegan appetizer night, but if you are really big on hummus it can be a meal in itself. Have it with fresh vegetable sticks rather than pita bread, since we’re all about healthy vegan recipes. Phil likes to call it ‘huh-moose’, with the accent on the moose. He tells me this is how they pronounce it in the middle east.

If you cook the beans with salt, that would be the first thing I would try. If you add salt when cooking them, they won’t fully soften. The next thing I would look at is the soaking & cooking time. You can soak them overnight, then cook. When they are fully cooked, they will smush fairly easily against the side of the pot. Yes, that is a technical term. The last thing to look at is the amount of liquid in your hummus. Add a bit more water and keep blending. Let me know how it goes!!

finally someone else who uses cooked beans!!! whenever i try it tho i never get it as creamy as i like, should i cook the beans longer on a lower temp? im using a vitamix.
