  • Why is it so hard to find healthy food at amusement parks?

Posted by admin on July 26th, 2010 and filed under healthy food | 6 Comments »

I don’t get it! There is nothing but junk food and with rides becoming more restrictive for people that are obese, shouldn’t they start offering healthy options?

I completely agree with you ! and its not just amusement parks its pretty much everywhere. Its like if you want to eat healthily you have to eat at home and it annoys me !

How does one train themselves to like healthy food?

Posted by admin on July 24th, 2010 and filed under healthy food | 3 Comments »

One of My issues for now is that I want to lose fat. I’m running every morning with my brother and now I just need to learn to eat healthily. I WANT to like healthy food but there’s just something about most of it. (Texture maybe?) So how on Earth can I convince my body and taste buds to like the food??
    Thanks guys!
    I drink water mainly.

I wouldn’t worry about training your body to like healthy food. Just keep yourself motivated. I can’t stand the texture of vegetables they make me want to puke but in order to stay healthy I choke them down anyways. You say you wanna lose weight? Instead of doing long boring cardio (hour of running) do a short HARD workout. To keep fat off myself I head to the park 3 days a week after my workout and sprint 30 seconds walk a minute sprint 30 seconds walk a minute, etc. until I’m at 20 minutes. That alone burns 4 times more fat than that hour long jog and speeds up metabolism for 24 hours. Other tips are to lift weights and gain muscle mass as it also aids in losing fat, get yourself on a meal plan (I use scott herman’s meal plan which I will include in sources), drink plenty of water each day and don’t look in the mirror too often. Appearances aren’t always accurate :)

    And have a human sacrifice.
KC: A lot of people are asking today why do you think the committee elected President Obama?
Bølverk: I believe a prize for peace should go to the biggest wuss.
BS: They were giving Obama a prize for not being George Bush.
Choir: They can smell the hope!!
    KC: Take a deep breath!
Choir: And hope a smelly world!
    KC: A deep breath!

What is the best way to drink pure fresh healthy water and eat fresh healthy food?

How do you avoid drinking the toxin poison fluoride that is found in water? Where do you go to get pure fresh drinking water?

When you go to buy food at the grocery store, how do you know if it’s genetically modified or not? Where do you go to buy truly fresh healthy food that has been genetically modified?
    typo …

*Where do you go to buy truly fresh healthy food that has NOT been genetically modified?

Local farm markets are your best source for organic food – even if it isn’t certified organic.
It is almost impossible to avoid GMOs in processed foods, and labeling is not required. Thanks to USDA and the FDA, most of the soy, cotton, corn and canola in the US are GMOs.
Well water and possibly bottled water are not fluoridated.
If you do a search for organic producers in your state, you may find some more resources.

Glad to see you interested on cooking homemde healthy food for your little one!

    1) meatload

Meat loaf is a great meal for toddlers since it doesn’t need to be cut and is easy to eat. Here is a quick and easy recipe to make that will have your toddler asking for seconds!

    Ingredients:

    1 pound ground beef
1 1/4 cup uncooked old fashioned oatmeal (not instant)
    1/4 cup American cheese, grated
    1/4 cup minced onion
    1 cup milk
    2/3 cup tomatoes, chopped
    1/2 teaspoon celery salt
    1 egg, beaten

    Directions:

Combine all ingredients together and mix well. Pack into a loaf pan that has been greased and bake at 350F for 1 hour and 10 minutes.

    2) Homemade macarini and cheese

Macaroni and cheese is a classic kid favorite. Most children love the taste of a great macaroni and cheese recipe, especially if it’s extra cheesy. Here is a recipe to try when making your next round of mac n cheese.

    Ingredients:

    6 ounces of cheddar cheese
    4 ounces of mozzarella cheese
1/2 pound (2 cups) uncooked elbow macaroni
    4 tablespoons unsalted butter
    1 tablespoon all purpose flour
1 1/2 cups half and half or light cream
    1/4 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
    Dash of hot-pepper sauce
    1/2 teaspoon salt
    8 cups water

    Directions:

Shred cheese. Put butter in a large saucepan and heat on medium until melted. Add flour and stir until mixture is smooth and you no longer see the flour. Stir in half-and-half cream until mixture is smooth again. Cook until mixture comes to a boil and thickens, this should take about 4 minutes. Turn off heat and add shredded cheeses, salt, Worcestershire sauce and hot-pepper sauce. Stir in until cheeses are melted and set mixture off to the side. Add macaroni to boiling water and boil uncovered until tender, about 8 minutes. Drain macaroni and add to cheese sauce that is set aside. Stir well to completely cover the macaroni, serve immediately.

    3) Chicken Rice Stew For Baby

Stews and soups are great for babies when they are made properly. In the beginning you will make the pieces of food small and soft so they are easy for baby to swallow and then over time you can begin to introduce larger items and textures to the stew.

1 cup cooked cubed chicken or turkey
    1/4 cup cooked rice
    1/4 cup cooked vegetables
    1/4 cup chicken broth
1/4 cup breast milk or formula

Puree all ingredients together and then pour the mixture into ice cube trays to make food cubes. If you don’t want make food cubes or don’t have enough ice cube trays you can make food plops by taking a spoonful of the pureed stew and placing it on a baking sheet and then placing that into the freezer immediately. Once your portions are frozen take them out and place in a large resealable bag to use at a later date. Don’t forget to label and date the bag as well.

    Bon Apetit!

Can someone give me a list of healthy foods, drinks, snacks and some food please?

Whole grains/wheat breads and pastas, plenty of COLORFUL veggies (corn and carrots aren’t enough), fruits (fresh or frozen in a smoothie!), dairy every day, protein (lean meats, chicken, fish, eggs, beans,…), a bit of fats here and there, and WATER! I think that should be added. :)
