  • How can I eat healthy when my mom always brings home fast food and she gets me some?

Posted by admin on March 14th, 2010 and filed under eat healthy | 5 Comments »

I have told her that I want to eat healthy and then we do for a few days and then we quit. We’ve tried the food pyramid and every thing else pretty much. HELP!

Ask her to get Subway sandwiches instead of the normal fast food. It is much healthier for you.

How do you eat a variety of healthy food?

Posted by admin on March 12th, 2010 and filed under eat healthy | 2 Comments »

Are there any good articles or books on this subject. I have been eating healthy food for a long time now, but I don’t change it up enough. Sometimes I’ll eat plain oatmeal five mornings in a row, for example. And other than that, I eat shredded wheat or cheerios. What elese is there that is healthy to eat?

spice up your morning oatmeal with some sugar free syrup or cinnamon which have zero calories.

Eat 2-3 egg whites along with your oatmeal since egg whites only have 15 calories per white as opposed to the more calorie dense yolk and oats.

How do I continue to eat healthy(still have a bit of an eating disorder) while on vacation in Disney World?

Posted by admin on March 8th, 2010 and filed under eat healthy | 4 Comments »

I want to eat really healthy while on Vacation in Disney World?!
Can you guys help me with tips on what to eat please?!
    Thank you so much!

Eating healthy at Walt Disney is not difficult. One of the cheapest snacks in the parks is fruit and it is easy to find. Disney has goen health conscience and offers lighter offerings (grilled chicken, salads, etc) every place they sell food.

Additionally, table service restaurants, just like any restaurant, will fix special order items. Avoid buffets if you find it too tempting, but know the plates are small and if you stick to one trip to the buffet line you will control your portion size well.

Don’t skip meals. Skipping meals does your body no good. But, you may snack more instead of eating a meal. As I’m sure you know, many smaller meals are better than three larger meals. Portion sizes are large at Disney, so snacks can qualify better and help you keep portion sizes down. You may also bring your own food/snacks into the parks.

Stick to water. Bring flavor packages (like crystal light) with you if you need flavor.

You do a lot of walking every day. Miles worth. Eat your bigger meals earlier and keep getting lighter/smaller as the day wears on. You’re more likely to burn those calories.

Don’t deny yourself. Everyone needs a Mickey bar. Just keep it to no more than one a day (or every other day) have it early in the day.

Also, try not to clean your plate. If you can leave a little behind, you’ll thank yourself. Also, skip the guacamole, ketchup, mayo, and sour cream on items.

Really, it’s no different than eating healthy at home.

How to eat Healthy with little budget and no stove?

I have a microwave, toaster oven and a minifridge. But I always buy junk food because its easy to nuke or throw in the fridge. But now I need to eat healthy. What foods can I eat or prepare that are healthy but not going to break my bank account and not need to cook? I live literally paycheck to paycheck….
STOP giving advice to lose weight! I just wanna eat healthy!

Mix mayo with tuna fish and put on lettuce, along with various other salad toppings. Buy, pre-grilled chicken, in the meat section and heat it in the microwave. Put it on lettuce, or into any vegetable dish. That’s all I can think of, at the moment. I hope it helps.

What is something healthy i cann eat before a night of drinking?

Posted by admin on March 4th, 2010 and filed under eat healthy | 3 Comments »

I try to watch what i put in my body, and I always eat healthy foods. Me and my friends are planning to go out to a bar for a birthday and are planning to drink a lot. What should I eat before this to make sure that i don’t ruin my whole day with the calories and everything else?

Drinking a lot of alcohol is drinking lots of empty calories anyway. I would eat something dense and filling, like pasta with veggies and lean meat, like chicken.

How to eat healthy and fresh when cooking for one?

Posted by admin on March 2nd, 2010 and filed under eat healthy | 3 Comments »

Healthy and fresh food (vegetables, fruit and poultry) comes in such large packaging that since I’m only cooking for one and can only eat so much, I end up throwing a lot of it away. Any tips for how I can use it all or save it or buy small amounts so it’s not wasteful? Thanks.

I’ll buy a package of boneless, skinless chicken breasts. The day that I buy them, I wash all of them, and place one breast in a zipploc freezer bag with about 1/4 cup of low-fat italian dressing and place them in the freezer, that way the day you want to cook it, just take one baggie out of the freezer and place in the fridge to defrost while you are at work. You can also buy the individual microwave rice packets to use as a side. You can also buy the ready made salad mixes. That way you don’t waste food, just a suggestion.
