My boyfriend need to lower his blood pressure but he hates vegetables and he isn’t very fond of diet foods. Does anyone know of some recipes or meals that are healthy but still have a great taste? We tried a healthy dinner tonight and although I didn’t find it completely disgusting my boyfriend couldn’t stomach it. Thanks for the help!
Yes, you might like this site:

It contains smarter low calorie choices beyond just fruits and vegetables.
I try to watch what i put in my body, and I always eat healthy foods. Me and my friends are planning to go out to a bar for a birthday and are planning to drink a lot. What should I eat before this to make sure that i don’t ruin my whole day with the calories and everything else?
Drinking a lot of alcohol is drinking lots of empty calories anyway. I would eat something dense and filling, like pasta with veggies and lean meat, like chicken.
Not a link to a website, I know those. What healthy recipe do you make for your family and they love it?
i find this one quite healthy, and you can sit infront of the telly..
sorry i dont have measurements cos I usally cook for one, but with the chicken, basically what you woudl use for a normal size meal for your family, either way i think u will figure it out;)
ingreadence -
pack of tortila;s (large onse are good, but minnie onse are nice for a bit of a snack ( enough for two or three each(for hungry people)
lettuc
tomatoe
sourcream( a normal size tub shoudl do)
tub of Salsa ( you could use either mild or spicey depending on taste’s.)
packet of either Taco or Burrito seasoning.
cheese ( can do without)
method
add packet of seasoning too a cup of water,
cook chicken in a frypan, ( dont make chicken pieces too big.)
once chicken is started too cook add season and water mixture, keep stiring around ,
once its all mixed together add Salsa and cook for another few minuts
while doing that you can cut up vegies, and put the sourcream and cheese into seperate bowls.
once cooked, put chicken into a bowl, set out onto the table with tortilla’s and people can wrap up there own and there you go!!!!
you can add more vegies if you want, or not have any at all,
either way, there isnt alot of added fat, and all the engreatents are fairly low fat.
email me if you have any questions cos my explaining mite be a bit odd ( stuckinacookiejar@hotmail.com)
would it matter to you if despite your healthy cooking and healthy eating habits, you may be eating out of cooking utensils that are not healthy or safe for use and you didnt realise it?
I take great care when purchasing cooking utensils. It isn’t just the cost that is important, but quality, what it’s made of and where it comes from. Personally, I avoid aluminium.
Everything is washed and rinsed thoroughly and once an item is damaged it’s replaced and if possible, the old one is put to use where health is not an issue.
There’s hardly any point in preparing a healthy meal and serving it up on a chipped plate that’s harbouring deadly germs. Common sense
I’m also looking for healthy recipes in general. gotta get healthy fast. thanks!

I have 50 to spend on food for two people this month. Do you have any cheap but healthy meal ideas for us. Money is really tight right now and this is all I have for food. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Like you am on a budget at the moment, Pasta and Potatoes are my top tip, you can add just about anything to them… pasta, ricotta & spinach; pasta and tomato’s; jacket potato and beans/salad/cheese.
Stock up on frozen veg, you an create stir frys, stews, and sides easily with them for very little cost, just add some of your favorite spices. Try going veggie for the month, you would be amazed at how much money you can save. I did that last month and am actually tempted to keep it up. Meat substitutes are loads cheaper and eating all those veggies must be doing some good.
I am going to do situps and take lots of walks and eat healthy. What are some healthy meals I can make for breakfast and lunch? Thanks!
I usually have a bowl of cereal without milk for breakfast.
Lunch, lean white meats, with spiced peas.
Dinner, Noodles and Peas; something along those lines.
My mom loves the family dog to death… But the thing is, i’m scared that he won’t last very long. Why? Because my mom always feeds him human food like… 80% of the time.
Can anyone tell me any healthy foods that poms can eat? And what they CAN’T eat?
I have a yorkie and a pitbull and the only human food they get is boneless/skinless boiled chicken breast with no seasoning and rice. They eat Blue Buffalo dog food.
Here is a list of good/bad foods: I hope it helps!!!
Grapes and Raisins: Grapes and raisins can cause kidney failure in dogs. As little as a single serving of raisins can kill a dog
Onions: Onions destroy red blood cells and can cause anemia.
Chocolate: Chocolate can cause seizures, coma and death. Baker’s chocolate is the most dangerous. A dog can consume milk chocolate and appear to be fine because it is not as concentrated, but it is still dangerous.
Coffee, Coffee grounds, tea and tea bags: Drinks/foods containing caffeine cause many of the same symptoms chocolate causes
Macadamia Nuts: Macadamia nuts can cause weakness, muscle tremor and paralysis.
Animal fat and fried foods: Excessive fat can cause pancreatitis.
Bones: Bones can splinter and damage a dog’s internal organs.
Tomatoes: Tomatoes can cause tremors and heart arrhythmias. Tomato plants are the most toxic, but tomatoes themselves are also unsafe.
Avocados: The fruit, pit and plant are all toxic. They can cause difficulty breathing and fluid accumulation in the chest, abdomen and heart
Nutmeg: Nutmeg can cause tremors, seizures and death
Apples, Cherries, Peaches and similar fruit: The seeds of these fruits contain cyanide, which is poisonous to dogs as well as humans. Unlike humans, dogs do not know to stop eating at the core/pit and easily ingest them.
Raw eggs: Raw eggs can cause salmonella poisoning in dogs. Dogs have a shorter digestive tract than humans and are not as likely to suffer from food poisoning, but it is still possible.
Salt: Excessive salt intake can cause kidney problems.
Food that most dogs can eat:
Some “human” foods are good for dogs. Most of these are healthier than the boxed treats you buy in the grocery store. . This is just a small list of examples of foods dogs can eat, not a list of every food they should eat. Dogs won’t necessarily get all the nutrients they need if they eat these foods exclusively, so check with your veterinarian if you are interested in feeding your dog a home cooked diet.
Any food that causes stomach upsets or digestive problems in your dogs should be avoided. Like people, some dogs cannot tolerate certain foods
Meats:
Meats should be boneless and it’s best if the skin is removed. I don’t consider raw meat a good idea because of the small risk of food poisoning and parasites.
Skinless, boneless chicken breast
Skinless, boneless turkey breast
Boneless fish
Vegetables:
Dogs have shorter digestive tracts than humans and cannot digest most vegetables whole or in large chunks. It’s best to put them through a food processor before giving them to your dog
Carrots
Green Beans
Lettuce
Potatoes
Yams
Grains:
Grains should not be given in large amounts or make up a large part of a dog’s diet, but these foods are generally safe in small amounts
Rice
Bread
Dairy products
Use caution with dairy products as they are high in fat and can cause pancreatitis, gas and diarrhea. Usually, nonfat plain yogurt is safe in small amounts
As of tomorow i want to start eating really healthily and avoid snacking on bad things like crisps and chocolate. Id also like to loose a few pounds.Do you have any tips on eating healthy?
Try calorie shifting, the idea behind the diet is to instead of avoiding food, embrace it and use it to your benefit to improve your metabolism. This way you’ll actually continue to burn fat even once you stop the diet.
The major problem with all diets that limit your calorie intake is that they as a result weaken and lower the effect of your metabolism on the foods you eat and actually make your body much more prone to storing calories as a result. Much like when an animal goes into hibernation, your body will go into scarcity mode and begin holding onto anything it can.
That’s the main reason that people experience rebound effects from diets. Calorie shifting actually does it right because it changes the way your body utilizes food and as a result you lose weight and keep it off when you stop.
I’ll throw in a link to a popular calorie shifting diet program in my source box for you to learn more about it.
I’m about 50 pounds overweight and while I want to loose weight, I don’t want to sacrifice my taste buds. For me, food is the spice of life and I’d rather be fat eating good food than skinny eating bland food. Of course, I’d rather be skinny eating good food! So far every "healthy recipe" I’ve tried tastes like crap. Does anyone have any techniques to share, or at least stories of how you lost weight without giving up the so-called "spice-of-life," AKA food?
When I lost weight, I changed nothing except portion size. Decrease your portion size. If you dont feel full, drink more water. water will become your best friend when you lose weight.Pretty soon, you’re metabolism will change and you will start to feel fuller faster. And dont forget. EXERCISE EVERYDAY!!!!! Dont expect a noticeable difference if you dont exercise. I used to shudder at that word and now I feel sinful not exercising lol. If you dont exercise, your weight loss program may fail. You will lose weight slower and you may get discouraged because of the slow progress. I used to get tired within 5 minutes of running. Now Im training for a marathon.
Enemy Number One: Dont eat out. No soda or juice. If you get tempted, drink water to make you full.
Its a good time to hydrate yourself. The more transparent your urine is, the more hydrated you are. Try to drink as much water as you can so that you’re urine is clear. That number of cups should be your goal everyday. This will also influence the amount you eat. My tip is if you dont have a cup of water by you every hour, get one. When you get tempted to snack, drink it. Limit what you eat.
Oh yeah. I lost over 100 pounds.
I know its shocking. Yes it freaked my friends out. I could even fit into some of my friends’ (who are girls) jeans. And guess what?? I had the same food. Deep fried?? no problem. Its all portion control. But I will admit. I used Lent to jump start this lifestyle change.
